My path to NIC was rather long and winding. I began studying English and Classical Studies at University of Ottawa, then off to graduate school in English at McGill and University of Victoria. After that life took me to Whistler, Nelson, and Salt Spring Island, South East Asia and India before landing in Courtenay and at NIC in 2007. These adventures (and some misadventures) definitely inform my world and teaching perspective. Since beginning at NIC I have taught English and worked to grow the Learning Commons academic supports to assist all students from where they are at to where they want to go. I love working with students and seeing the lightbulbs go off as connections are made and skills developed.
