Second NIC Lego Robotics summer camp coming to Campbell River

Registration is open for the second week of NICBotCamps in Campbell River, which runs August 12-16. Deadline to register is August 9.

Due to popular demand, NIC is offering more robotics camps in Campbell River this summer.

NICBotCamps teach students aged 9 – 14 to build, program and control Lego robots while exploring science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) skills.

“The NICBotCamps have been extremely popular for the last few years,” said Naomi Tabata, manager of NIC’s Centre for Applied Research, Technology and Innovation (CARTI). “Kids explore their creativity as they design, build and program robots that can move, race, dance and complete wacky tasks from their imagination.”

Because of the popularity of the program, a second week has been scheduled for August 12 – 16 at NIC’s Campbell River campus. Both Levels 1 and 2 camps will run.

The Level 1 camps are open to students aged 9 to 12. Level 2 is for students aged 10 to 14 who have some Lego Robotics experience.

Deadline to register is August 9.
