Campbell River ElderCollege celebrating its 20th year

Campbell River ElderCollege’s next information meeting happens at the Campbell River NIC campus on Friday, Sept. 20 at 1:30 p.m. Come out and meet course leaders, enjoy some refreshments and find out what courses are available this fall.

The public is invited to an information meeting about the new line-up of Campbell River ElderCollege courses for students aged 50-plus.

The meeting will be held at the Campbell River campus of North Island College on Friday, Sept. 20 at 1:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Course leaders will be present to tell people what’s on offer and answer any questions.

This is the program’s 20th year offering informative, interesting and inexpensive courses that provide lifelong opportunities for people 50-plus. From a humble start in 2004, providing just five courses, Campbell River ElderCollege has steadily grown course lists and membership. Members on the far side of 50 can now gain access to as many as 50 courses annually, at minimum cost and without the stress of grades or exams.

Campbell River ElderCollege is volunteer-run and self-funded. There are many volunteering opportunities available to maintain this organization, and ElderCollege is always looking for new course leaders–please let us know if you are interested in sharing your knowledge and experience.

Plan to come out to our public information meeting on Sept. 20 in the Student Commons at North Island College (1685 S. Dogwood St.). Come to the main entrance and look for the signs.

More information is available at www.nic.bc.ca/CREC. Registration opens on Monday, Sept. 23 at 9 a.m. People interested in taking courses can register online or in person at North Island College.
