NIC's Great Shed Auction comes to the Comox Valley

NIC is auctioning off two sheds, created in the Carpentry Foundation program last year. Proceeds support future trades students at NIC. The auction closes Oct. 5, 2018 at 4 pm.

NIC’s Great Shed Auction in the Comox Valley is now closed. Winning bidders will be contacted soon. Thank-you to everyone who participated to support NIC trades students.

“The students put a lot of hard work into these projects and these sheds are now looking for their forever homes,” said Cheryl O’Connell, NIC’s dean of trades and technical programs. “This is a chance to get a high-quality, well-built storage or work shed for your yard while supporting local students.”

NIC 2nd year Carpentry Apprenticeship students built two sheds as part of their curriculum last year. Proceeds from their work will support future trades students at NIC.

The sheds are identical at eight feet wide by eight feet long. They are built to code with a finished and primed exterior, including rain screening. The interior is unfinished so you can customize it to your needs.

The starting bid for each shed is $1,500, to reflect the skill level of the students and the materials used in construction.

“Each shed is great example of the foundation work that students learn in the program,” noted O’Connell. “It brings together floor, wall and roof construction, window and door framing and exterior finishing work in one project.”

Bidding closes Friday, Oct. 5 at 4 pm.

To place your bid, email competitions@nic.bc.ca. Both sheds will be auctioned independently as CV Shed 1 and CV Shed 2. Please indicate in your email which shed you’d like to bid on.

View more photos of the sheds.

Please note, the winning bidders will need to arrange delivery.

Trades Sampler students in Campbell River also built three sheds now being auctioned off in Campbell River.   View that auction here.
