This year’s day is focused on Article 17 of the UN Declaration on the Rights of the Child:
Children shall have access to information from national and international sources. The media shall encourage materials that are beneficial, and discourage those which are harmful to children.
“We celebrate the family on National Child Day and reflect on how adults affect the development of children close to them. We thank early childhood educators for coming alongside students to mentor and become a community of practice,” said Laurie Tulloch, NIC ECCE department co-chair. "We also acknowledge Early Childhood Educators for the care and respect they provide to children to grow to their full potential.”
