This course, designed for the lay person, will review the evolution of Earth and how plate tectonics and accreted terranes shaped construction of BC and Vancouver Island.  We discuss age dating, major rock units on the island, paleontology, mass extinctions, earthquakes, etc.  We will look at ore deposits of Vancouver Island, as well as diamond and uranium deposits, then finish with a review of nuclear power.
