This course is designed to provide the student with a practical knowledge of the application of the Collision Regulations and principles to be observed in keeping a navigational watch while using Radar, Loran-C, GPS, Echo Sounder, a compass, and an Electronic Charting System. Each course participant must attend a minimum of 90% of lecture classes and 100% attendance is required during simulation exercises and evaluation. Participants must have prior training in topics such as basic Chart Work and Navigations Safety in order to have background knowledge required for the navigation of a vessel under simulated conditions.
