Every year, NIC students elect four representatives to provide leadership, insight and skills on NIC’s Education Council. Over the year, students provide valuable perspectives while gaining tangible experience and connections to support their career goals.

What is the Role of the Education Council?
NIC’s Education Council has four student representatives and two main functions. It advises the Board of Governors on NIC’s educational policy, such as NIC’s mission statement, educational goals and priorities. The council also sets policy related to programs and services, such as new courses and programs, library services and student discipline procedures. They meet monthly, usually on the third Friday of the month. Students receive an honorarium of $100 per meeting for participating in monthly meetings of Education Council.
