Area of Expertise: Early Childhood Education

I am a full-time instructor teaching courses mainly in NIC's Early Childhood Care
and Education Certificate Program, and in previous years the Diploma Program. I have
been an Early Childhood Educator for 36 years and have worked with a variety of age
groups including infants and toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children. I have
a passion for working with families and spent eight years working with young parents
as a coordinator/outreach worker in a school-based child care centre.  In my quest
to continue to grow in my chosen field, I earned my Masters Degree in Early Childhood
Education at the University of British Columbia in 2015. My personal philosophy regarding
being an educator is my belief in continuing to pursue professional development opportunities
and acknowledging and celebrating that I value being a life long learner. I feel so
fortunate to be doing the work I love to do and to be supporting students in their
journey toward becoming professional Early Childhood Educators.
