NIC is committed to fostering a culture of integrity, mutual respect and accountability. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the policies and procedures that ensure the rights and responsibilities that come with being a member of our college community.

As a student, you have a right to a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment. You also have the responsibility to make sure you’re ready to learn and to conduct yourself professionally.

NIC’s Community Code of Academic, Personal and Professional Conduct (3-06) outlines our expectations for appropriate conduct for students and college employees.

Submitting a formal complaint

If you have concerns about the quality of education or service you receive at NIC, we encourage you to attempt to resolve them through a conversation with the parties involved.

However, when such efforts are not successful, you have the right to put forward a formal complaint as outlined in Student Complaint Resolution Policy 3-31. This policy outlines a process to have your complaint heard in a transparent, unbiased and fair manner.

If you want to initiate a formal complaint or if you have questions or concerns, email studentaffairs@nic.bc.ca.

You may also choose to contact NISU for advocacy resources.
