Student identification
Getting your student ID
All students who are registered in one or more credit courses are eligible to get their free student ID card.
Local students
Visit Student Services at your local campus to have your photo taken. Be sure to bring official photo identification and your NIC student number.
Distance students
Using your NIC student email, send a request to photoid@nic.bc.ca. and attach the following in JPEG format (pictures files ending in .jpeg or .jpg):
- Your headshot (the file should be between 10 KB to 2,500 KB)
- A clear copy of another photo ID (driver’s license, passport, BC ID)
Once we've received your email, we’ll produce your ID card and send it to you.
Where to use your card
Your card includes your student number and student status. You’ll need to present it for the following actions:
- Borrowing library materials
- Registering or withdrawing from courses
- Voting for your student representatives
If your card is lost or damaged, we can provide you with a new copy at a cost of $10.
