Faculty and Staff Profile
Dan Brochu
About
I began my apprenticeship in London, Ontario, and completed it in Alberta, with a unique detour working nearly a mile underground in a mine. My career took shape at Ron Hodgson GM in St. Albert, where I specialized in automatic transmissions and high-performance vehicles. In 1988, through the dealership, I joined a Top Fuel dragster crew—a thrilling 30-year experience that took me to 21 international race wins and introduced me to many inspiring and influential people in the motorsports world.
In 2006, I took on a new challenge: instructing at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT). Teaching allowed me to give back to a trade that has given me so much. Over the next 19 years, I trained more than 1,800 tradespeople and earned a Bachelor's degree along the way, further deepening my skills and knowledge.
When I’m not in the shop or classroom, you’ll find me tinkering with my personal rides—or out fishing, enjoying the Island life.
