A program to retrain people who had worked in forestry for new careers in green construction was featured on Global News on June 12.
NIC is delivering the training in partnership with the City of Port Alberni, IGV Housing and WorkBC. Of the first 15 trainees, IGV Housing has hired 12 while three have been hired by other employers.
The program has received other recent attention from the Vancouver Sun, Canadian Manufacturing, the Journal of Commerce and Business Examiner.
