Jocelyn is a dedicated nursing professional and educator with over a decade of healthcare experience in both BC and Ontario, beginning her nursing career in 2011. She brings a strong clinical background with specialties in geriatric and orthopedic nursing, where she developed expertise in caring for aging populations and supporting patients through mobility, recovery, and rehabilitation.

Throughout her nursing career, Jocelyn has been committed to delivering compassionate, person-centred care while upholding high standards of safety, collaboration, and professionalism. Her hands-on experience in both geriatric and orthopedic settings provides her with a deep understanding of the complexities of patient care, which she thoughtfully integrates into her teaching.

As an Instructor in the Health Care Assistant program at North Island College, Jocelyn is passionate about preparing students for meaningful careers in healthcare. She holds a Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP), which strengthens her ability to design inclusive, engaging, and effective learning experiences. She emphasizes the development of clinical competence, critical thinking, and confidence in her learners.

Jocelyn is dedicated to mentoring future healthcare assistants and fostering a supportive learning environment grounded in respect, empathy, and cultural safety. Her dual role as a nurse and educator reflects her commitment to lifelong learning and excellence in both healthcare practice and education. Jocelyn believes that effective teaching is rooted in respect, inclusivity, and real-world relevance. She is committed to creating a supportive learning environment where students feel empowered to ask questions, develop confidence, and apply critical thinking.
