International exchange
Go global with an international exchange
Taking part in an exchange means living and studying in a new country for a semester or two. It’s a chance to immerse yourself in new cultures and enhance your education with new perspectives and experiences. You’ll also meet other exchange students from around the world.
Our exchange institutional partners
NIC is also a member of the University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific (UMAP) Multilateral Student Exchange program — an international agreement that streamlines the study abroad process for over 500 institutions in 35 countries.
How much does it cost?
Studying with one of our partners means you’ll pay NIC tuition and fees while enroled in an international exchange program. However, other costs may vary depending on the country — such as food and accommodation.
Before starting your semester abroad, you’ll be required to make an appointment with a financial aid advisor to review your budget for the term. We also recommend you check out other funding options through external sources.
Am I eligible?
There are three basic criteria students must meet to qualify for an exchange.
- Maintain good academic standing as a current student enroled in a program
- Complete at least one full semester prior to the exchange
- Have a valid passport prior to your travel date
If you’re ready to start planning your exchange, it's time to start your application.
A note on international admission criteria
It’s important to note that each of our partner institutions will have their own application deadlines and requirements. Students are responsible for reviewing this information and following instructions from both NIC and the partner institution. NIC’s Office of Global Engagement will screen applications and nominate students to partner schools, however it is up to each institution to accept or decline applicants.
