Regional Support
NIC is proud to partner with First Nations to deliver credentialed programs and courses to help Indigenous students and their communities – including programs that combine English and math upgrading with a wide variety of vocational skills and credentials.
If your nation or organization has an idea or request for training, we want to hear from you.
Examples of previous partnerships
NIC’s Early Childhood Care and Education Certificate was delivered in-community to
address local demand.
Adult basic education and applied business courses were delivered locally in Alert
Bay.
NIC worked with the NTC to provide Health Care Assistant training to eight community
members in response to local demand for health services. The training was carried
out thanks to funding from the NTC.
NIC worked with Homalco First Nation to develop a pre-health program that included
academic upgrading and foundational skills for a local cohort of students pursuing
the Health Care Assistant Certificate.
